About Jalbirae River - Also Known as Balephi Khola it is one of the smaller tributaries of the Sunkoshi, joining that river a short distance upstream of Dolalghat and only long 50km from Kathmandu. The river rises on the southern slopes of Dorje Lakpa(6990m) one of the mountains to the north est of Kathmandu and at the head of Langtang Valley.
Jalbirae trip can be an intense, fun, tight, technical and active trip however it does need the right water level so is only possible for a couple of months each year "Best season Oct-Nov,Feb-May".
About Bhote koshi rafting - It is one of the best short and mild class rafting and has many class 3+ rapids. Of course technically it is also count more challenging than the big volume rivers like Trishuli and Seti. It is continues section of Upper Bhote Koshi and ideal for everyone as novices. It allows you to get chance to test swift flow of some fantastic rapids with awesome sceneries along river journey. You can raft in this section for day trip and stay at Rafting Star Camp to enjoy overnight halt. It is located nearby rafting ending point is called Tunibote, Sukute just 65 Km away from Kathmandu.

4 Days Sunkoshi Kayak Clinic
Sun Koshi means 'River of Gold' - prehaps named after the gold that is sometimes panned from the river gravels, or alternatively it refers to the orange color of the water in the Monsooon when it is thick with alluvial salt. One of t he ten best white water rafting trips in the world. big rapids, warm water, beautiful scenery and great camping makes this a classic multi-day river trip. A great trip for intermediate and beginner Kayakers. At its best in medium to high flows. In the spring the river offers fine rapids with longer flat sections more suited to a novice kayaker or rafter.
*Day 1st: Morning Departure from Kathmandu to Rafting Star Camp (2 hrs Drive private transportation). Camp briefing, breakfast and equipment selection will be done after reaching camp. After lunch heading towards river with instructor to learn variety of basic paddling skills such as basic paddling strokes, kayak carry, wet exit, self rescue, T-rescue, ferry cross etc.
*Day 2nd: After breakfast we will paddle Sunkoshi River Downstream, where we will practice river running skills, river signals, eddy in/out, Eskimo roll etc and after short lunch break and rest we will practice those same skills again and continue paddling. Rapid includes II-III grade. We will camp at the soft beautiful sandy beach of Sunkoshi River. You will be accompanied by Oar raft and a comprehensive river crew of Rafting Star. We will spend 6 hrs in water.
*Day 3: Next morning continue Kayaking, after breakfast, rapids includes Grade II-III rapids. We will practice river running skill, rapid scouting, safe and fun run, T-rescue, Kayak Rolls. We will spent up to 6 hrs in River. Camping at beach.
*Day 4: We will paddle downstream and finish the trip at Nepalthok, After some good stretch paddling of river will take out, we will have lunch and load all the equipments in bus/van. 3 hrs drive to Kathmand
